Last Updated: March 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) specifies the actions prohibited by CoreHosting to users of our network and systems.

1. Prohibited Uses

You may use our services for lawful purposes only. You may not use our services:

  • In any way that breaches any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
  • In any way that is unlawful or fraudulent, or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect.
  • To send, knowingly receive, upload, download, use, or re-use any material which does not comply with our content standards.
  • To transmit, or procure the sending of, any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising or promotional material (SPAM).
  • To knowingly transmit any data, send or upload any material that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware, or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware.

2. Resource Usage & Abuse

CoreHosting strictly enforces fair usage of resources to ensure performance stability for all clients on shared and reseller node environments.

  • CPU/RAM Constraints: Consuming more than 25% of system resources (CPU, Memory, Disk I/O) for longer than 90 seconds is prohibited.
  • Inodes: An excessive number of files/inodes that impacts filesystem performance may result in warnings or suspension.
  • Background Processes: Running unapproved background processes, IRC bots, cryptocurrency miners, or mass video encoding on standard hosting environments is strictly forbidden and results in immediate termination without refund.

3. Security

Customers are solely responsible for any misuse of their account, even if the inappropriate activity was committed by a friend, family member, guest, or employee. Customers must take adequate security precautions to ensure that others do not gain unauthorized access to their account. If your account is compromised and used for illicit activities (such as sending SPAM or acting as a phishing proxy), CoreHosting reserves the right to suspend the account until the malicious activity is resolved.

4. Enforcement & Suspension

CoreHosting, in its sole discretion, determines whether a violation of this AUP has occurred. In the event of a violation, we may take any of the following actions without liability or obligation to refund:

  • Issue a warning.
  • Suspend your hosting account, VPS, or server immediately.
  • Terminate your hosting account permanently.
  • Bill the customer for administrative costs or damages incurred due to the violation.
  • Provide information regarding the violation to law enforcement agencies.

5. Modifications

We may revise this acceptable use policy at any time by amending this page. You are expected to check this page from time to time to take notice of any changes we make, as they are legally binding on you.
