Last Updated: March 2026
At CoreHosting (Pty) Ltd ("CoreHosting", "we", "us", "our"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy outlines what information we collect, how it is used, and under what specific circumstances it is shared.
1. Information We Collect
We collect various types of information to provide and improve our hosting, domain, and web project services:
- Account Data: Name, contact details, billing address, and organization data when you sign up.
- Technical Data: IP addresses, browser types, login timestamps, and network usage metrics generated while using our infrastructure.
- Service Data: Files, databases, and configuration settings hosted on our servers, which are encrypted or managed per administrative protocols.
2. How We Use the Information
The information collected is used strictly for operational and service enhancement purposes:
- To provision, maintain, and support our hosting services, domains, and maintenance retainers.
- To process payments and generate invoices accurately.
- To notify you of critical service disruptions, maintenance windows, or security alerts.
3. Sharing Information with Upstream Service Providers
CoreHosting operates as a premium aggregator and provider of digital infrastructure. Therefore, to provision your services, we must share certain personal and technical data with our upstream service providers. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Domain Registrars: When you register a domain, international ICANN regulations and local registry rules (e.g., ZADNA) require us to share your name, address, email, and phone number to establish domain ownership (WHOIS data).
- Datacenter & Infrastructure Partners: Network metadata, IP routing tables, and server utilization data are inherently processed by the physical datacenters hosting our compute nodes.
- Licensing Vendors: Providers such as cPanel, LiteSpeed, or Imunify360 may require server IP addresses or primary contact details for license verification and abuse management.
By using our services, you expressly consent to the transfer of this data to our upstream partners required to fulfill your orders.
4. Data Sharing for Analytics and Optimization
To continuously improve our platform's user experience and operational efficiency, we share aggregated or pseudonymized usage data with analytics providers (such as Google Analytics, PostHog, or similar tracking toolsets).
These tools collect information regarding how you navigate our website, the features you use in our client area, and error logs. This data may be transmitted to servers outside of South Africa. We do not use these analytics tools to scan the private content of the websites you host with us; this strictly applies to your interaction with our corporate websites and billing portal.
5. Compliance with Law Enforcement
CoreHosting fully cooperates with law enforcement agencies and cybercrime task forces. We reserve the absolute right to disclose any information about you or your hosted content to government officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate to respond to claims, valid subpoenas, or court orders.
6. Data Security
We employ commercially reasonable operational and technical measures designed to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is absolutely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security, and we disclaim any liability for breaches resulting from sophisticated cyber attacks or zero-day exploits.
7. Your Rights (POPIA)
In accordance with South African law (specifically the Protection of Personal Information Act), you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data held by us, provided that such deletion does not conflict with our legal or upstream contractual obligations.
